Chloral hydrate loses its effect after 2 weeks of regular use, where as benzodiazepines keep working for 6 months plus, AND chlorak or barbiturates are no more effective than benzodiazepines such as temazepam or flurazepam in appropriate doses (about 30g of either of these)
Thus, benzos are better choices, as well as being virtualy impossible to kill your self with them.
