Wellbutrin SR 2 x 150mg - Once Daily?

Hi,

My doctor recently upped my dose of Wellbutrin SR from 100mg once a daily, to 300mg. He instructed me to take two 150mg pills each morning, but I have always known the SR version to be taken 8 hrs apart. But, he said that the SR and XL have almost the same release time. Has anyone heard of this? I am taking it as instructed and not having any issues, but wondering if it would be more beneficial to have the split dose or the XL version?
