Why do you think you are underweight? Maybe that's the the weight your are meant to be. Maybe your weight is normal for your body type and composition.

You definitely don't want to constantly overeat to gain weight(not saying you want to), it's just too hard on one's body and eventually leads to health issues and a shorter lifespan, regardless of whether or not you actually gain much weight from it.

How old are you? If you are still very young, like lower to mid 20's, your metabolism is likely so fast that many attempts to gain weight, through muscle or fat, will be pretty difficult.
