New drugs that just don't cut it

Posted by Conundrum on October 5, 2010, at 11:15:29

I've been having trouble with new drugs that just don't work or stop working.

The ones that stopped working include:
pristiq, remeron, abilify, and lamotrigine.

Ritalin can pull me out of a bad mood, but doesn't help with anhedonia, or motivation, surprisingly

The ones that did nothing were lexapro, budeprion SR.

The only thing that partially works consistently is low dose prozac, which helps with motivation and somewhat with enjoyment.

Maybe I should try to augment that.

Maybe I should just go for an MAOI.

I'm also considering tianeptine, which is an indirect 5-HT antagonist, but it sounds like it is weak and mainly for anxiety.

My grandmother tried a bunch of TCA and none worked. She tried Parnate and it worked. Stopped for some reason and went on Nardil and that worked as well.

Complaints: post-SSRI problems: anhedonia, memory and concentration problems, sexual dysfunction. )
Country:USA

Currently taking Lamictal, mirtazapine.

Does humor belong in depression?
