Why can't I Sleep

Posted by tonyz on May 3, 2010, at 15:03:03

Taking 600mg LI in the am and at bedtime 100 mg amitriptyline (on a ramp up), 1-2 mg clonazepam, and 30 mg restoril. I go to bed early by 10pm and on a good night I'll wake up at 4am. Some nights only 2 hours sleep. When I awaken I can't get back to sleep.

I've been severely depressed before, but in terms of reduction of sleep and just general functionality, this is one of the worst.

When I was hospitalized doctor insisted that I was bipolar although he never said that, first thing he did was lower my Nortriptyline and introduce LI and Seroquel. In morning self evaluations I kept saying I was at the lowest point. Finally, I gave up and checked myself out.

There were a few nights with seroquel at 400mg, trileptal at 300mg, and clonazepam at 2mg that I had some decent sleep - at least it felt that way.

What do you guys/gals think I should do? What should I ask my current doctor?
