Amitriptyline and Remeron

Ramping up on amitriptyline will be at 75mg tonight. Can a small dose of remeron (7.5mg) be added safely. Doc seems to think so. The amitriptyline will eventually get up to at least 150mg I'm thinking. Thanks.
