If you can afford an 'alternative' doctor, they might prescribe time-release T3 which is compounded(probably self pay too). In my experience they are also way more flexible on 'off label' uses of meds. so might consider it for psychological reasons, even if you are euthyroid--not sure from your post if you are or not. Your status as a self payor gives you more negotiation power too, in my experience. My pdoc. won't prescribe anything unconventional. I asked about T3(plain old cytomel), but she said that she would only give me Synthroid(I'm euthyroid). Sometimes I wonder how she stays in business as she has only ever given me thinks that my GP is prepared to prescribe for me anyway. No mixing of meds. or off-label stuff. I don't really know why I continue to see her--though she does take my insurance which is rare where I live.
As far as the T3 was concerned,I took up to 60 mcg twice a day with absolutely no effect on heart rate. Actually it made me tired, so I'm trying some adrenal support before having another go.
