Surprised at what I can eat on Parnate

Posted by Maxime on January 1, 2010, at 13:55:56

Hi

When I was on Parnate in 2002 I tried some of the forbidden foods. I am doing the same this time. I've been able to eat cheese (cheddar and swiss) and drink red wine without a reaction. I guess I am playing Russian roulette because I know that I could have a hypertensive crisis from these foods. In 2002 I had a crisis from the following: homemade red win (store bought was fine), soy sauce, cold remedy (I took this by accident forgetting that I was on the Parnate). I think I have been really lucky. Maybe my body doesn't produce tyramine. Who knows, but I am surprised with what I have eaten and how I have not reacted from it.

I continue to feel great on my Parnate and Nortriptyline! I am more social and less anxious as well. I think this med was made for me. :)
