It happened only during the time that I was manic. My manic state lasted for a few months before it was recognized by my doctor. I don't recall getting sleepy during these times. In fact, the flushing was associated with activation rather than quiescence. That leads me to believe that your experience is NOT a symptom of mania. I am still guessing that it is an autonomic imbalance that will resolve with time. One might expect this to happen with an increase in sympathetic activation resulting from taking Parnate and amphetamine. There is no reason for concern.

Out of curiosity, how do you feel after eating?
