To Scott - My Perceptions Of Parnate

Posted by bulldog2 on August 3, 2009, at 16:53:26

I was on parnate for eight weeks and had attained a dose of 60 milligrams. I stopped because I didn't feel enough benefits from parnate which I took as montherapy.

I now feel that the right additions to parnate may cause me to reconsider restarting it.

I felt a strong feeling of norepinephrine. Actually my libido dipped a bit on this med. I didn't have the dopamine feeling this med is often touted as boosting. The med actually calmed me down a bit as my klonopin use went from 2 to 1 milligrams. Also missing was a feeling of a serotonin boost that an ssri often gives.

Maybe amitriptyline would be a good addition. Perhaps better than nortriptyline ? Also puzzling was the libido dip? Perhaps to much norepinephrine?
