I agree with Philippa, I think it's Akathisia. Us bipolars (II included) do not do very well on SSRIs. You don't take enough of a mood stabilizier to offset the Lexapro, if it were going to offset it. You say it is hard to describe how you feel. It's true, it's the weirdest feeling. You feel agitated but it's all on the inside. Do you feel scared? Do you feel angry? Do you feel like you want to climb the walls or get out of your skin? I personally am never taking anti-depressants again. I tried Lexapro, in particular. On top of everything above, I would clench my teeth when sleeping. I was chasing the shaking, visible or imagined, with benzos. Nothing could calm me.
