No experience with barbs but im wondering....um do they even still use barbituates these days?...I think the dangers are so prevalent with them that I've only really heard of their contemporary use in hospitals...I dont believe these are meds that are "send home" rx's anymore but could be wrong...USA is more liberal with meds than Canada.

My mother took seconal for years and found it not only got her to sleep but was an aphrodisiac as well. That would be nice. I've also read, however, that the sleep inducing effect lasts for only a couple of weeks. That would be no good. Any info will be apprechiated as I meet with a new psychopharm doc this afternoon.
