Yeah, and I noticed that at websites where patients rate their own meds, the antidepressant (and not even an antidepressant actually) that rates by far higher than any others is Tramadol (Ultram). People were initially prescribed it for post-operative pain or something, and discovered by accident that after years of trying lousy antidepressants they actually felt like their old selves again on Tramadol. Most antidepressants scored about a 3.2 on a 1-5 scale, with Tramadol at a 4.2. Huge difference.

Anyway, the point is this. Almost all of them agreed they were dependent on the drug. They felt the power of withdrawals when they missed a dose. They are addicted. But, and it is a huge but, they are living fullfilled lives with vibrant jobs, renewed careers, happy families, energy, creativity, hobbies, everything.

One has to kind of decide do they want to be addicted and productively healthy, or unaddicted and chronically ill.

The same issue applies to Provigil, which also by the way scored a 4.2, way above other antidepressants.

If I had to make the choice of being addicted on something and yet alive to enjoy the world, or to be a housebound ridden disaster, well, I'll take the addiction thank you.

Try stopping the Luvox. I think you'll find you are addicted to it. Not in the sense that you crave a dose, but in the sense your body cannot go without it. Provigil, Luvox, Effexor, Zyprexa...all of these drugs get people "hooked".
