fish oil and emotions

Posted by connor on March 10, 2009, at 14:25:37

I already had a very limited range of emotions, I heard fish oil raised dopamine and I actually started taking it to increase ,y emotional range and cognition. It worked for cognition, but I noticed I felt literally no emotion.. no happiness, no depression, NOTHING. It was really quite interesting, being able to view things with a completely neutral perspective not being effected by any emotion that may influence my view , just pure logic. I was like a machine, my mind was operating well.

Fish oil was actually the last thing I thought could do this, until I started reading reports of people also experiencing this. It's also a treatment for bipolar so the fact that it could take the edge off your emotions isn't surprising and probably beneficial... unless you barely have any emotions to begin with.

It really sucks because it really helped my cognition and other issues, but like everything I try there's always a side effect that prevents me from benefiting...and this is freaking fish oil.. oh well. I hope this subsides
