Hi Denise, I have GAD and have been taking Agomelatine for about 4 months now. I started on the regular dose 25mg, and have since gone up to 50mg. The drug does have a good antidepressant anti-anxiety effect. However I think most people will need to take the higher dose of 50mg to get the most out of this drug. 25mg was ok but still had some anxiety symptoms (no panic attacks), 50mg has been a marked improvement on that, I think I may reach remission in the coming months.

Ago is much better than SSRI's for side effects. No/minimal sexual dysfunction, no increased appetite and much more balanced emotional state.

So far I'm very happy to be taking it.
