My doc said he does not like it due to "past problems". I was so messed up when I saw him, I really did not pin him down on that statement. I do know that it came under fire when they discovered one of the Columbine shooters was taking it. But any med can be linked to any event.

Exactly. It had zero to do with the event. They could have been taking any of the SSRIs or none, or an AP, or anything. There were a lot more of socio-economic and other factors in the incident than anything else.

Luvox is a good medication for OCD, I have taken it, it was marketed that way but actually I think it is more than marketing. It is true that most of the "cleaner" SSRIs might equally help a given individual for obsessive thoughts.

If he meant "past problems" as in how you responded to medication personally, that's a different story, but the link to the event really led the manufacturer fleeing and it becoming generic.

I'd ask your doctor on this one, if he believes that, there's not a lot to do but I would be surprised unless either a) he really has had problems with patients or b) he doesn't have enough peer discussion about it.

But that's saying "I doubt your doctor" -- and that's not what I want to convey, I'm just curious I guess.
