Wow, that sounds intense.
I'm usually very sensitive to drugs & have to take it slow, but Effexor didn't do much for me. I didn't have noticeable side effects, nor withdrawal. It did nothing for my depression.
At the time, I had an obsessive doctor who kept patients on drugs as long as possible, just in case it would eventually kick in, so I was on it almost a year.
Good luck finding & maintaining a good balance of meds.
