> Hi all. I am wondering how many of you on medication, and I suppose those of you specifically on benzos and SSRI's just cause that's what I'm on....I'm wondering if your understanding of spiritual matters has increased since being on meds. I would define spiritual matters as 'acceptance', 'instant insight', 'forgiveness', etc. I'm sure many of you can add to that .list...

I had spiritual moments on zoloft years ago. Think initually I had a serotonin rush. The excess serotonin gave me a spiritual connection to nature. Never happened years later.
I think all experiences are related to chemistry. So theoritically these meds can induce various brain experiences because of their influence on brain chemistry.
High dose neurontin also makes me feel more connected to the environment.
Years ago I read a book Listening To Prozac.Peter Kramer felt are personalities were just our particular brain chemistry. He saw some of his patients personalites change when on Prozac.
