Well as for the stomach effects of anxiety, a surprising majority of the body's serotonin receptors are not in the brain, but are in the gut.

Hence, why the chemotherapy (and I think for post operative emesis as well) 5HT3 antagonists work on that region. They're extremely expensive though.

Ginger does have some mild 5HT3 antagonism, at least from some studies.

When one is easing into some SSRIs, 5HT3 agonism may occur as an accidental product of how "clean" the agent may be and the individual, hence nausea in changing doses.
