Really it will have to be lofepramine because desipramine isn't available in my country. It is noted as having fewer cardiac side effects than other TCAs, but I don't know if it compares exactly to desipramine.

I have sleep issues (including sleep apnea, for which I always use a C-PAP machine when I sleep, and some other problems), but I don't know that there's been a difference in them since taking desipramine. Attention-wise, I don't think I've noticed a difference, either. One problem with the desipramine is that I can't take stimulants with it, the mix makes my heart go nuts and I had some foul incidents. Sadly, I was in a car wreck (not on a stimulant) a month ago that was my fault, I was being inattentive, and I did wonder if I would have been on a stimulant would it have not happened? But, really, I don't think I recall getting improved attention out of the various ADD stimulants I've tried. It was medically made more justifiable for me to get them because I do have attention trouble, but I still wanted them even without the attention help, desiring mood and energy boost and a hope for perhaps a few pounds of easy weight loss (I am morbidly obese).
