That *sounds* like performance anxiety to me, the demand of the performance being the production of the appearance of being relaxed and comfortable.

Hyperawareness can contribute to performance anxiety (or whatever we term it).
Derek Jacobi, the actor, somewhere described his breakdown as arising from excessive self consciousness of his acting.
The interesting thing to me was that anyone could become so excessively conscious of any action that they freeze.
