Hopefully some still are in effect not neccesairily flu but thing like MRSA. Since that has spread to the community and no longer hospital contained. Phillipa
I didn't know it had spread outside of hospitals. Its a bad problem and one due to both overuse of antibiotics and the problems of isolating patients and not sterilizing enough. I do know that vancomycin is still the last resort of antibiotic in the US as teicoplanin was only limited approved by the FDA.Synercid, Zyvox, and Tygercid are the only ones that will treat some types of cases that are too complex for vancomycin.
Wash your hands and don't touch your face or eyes. Easier said than done as we all have that habit. I'm not saying that applies to MRSA but it applies to contact infection.-- Jay
