Yes, there is a subconscious look back at parts of your life as the best times -- and don't get me wrong, they may well have been, but sometimes people (including myself) look at certain periods through rosy lenses or forget certain aspects that may not have been the best. That doesn't mean you didn't make it through them though, too, and maybe succeeded despite them.


I guess my point is that one can't live in the past nor the future and end up missing the present, the Here and Now, where we all live, because that is how life goes.

That doesn't mean as I said you have to beat up yourself over depression that as a biological and psychological condition you may or may not have had as much control over as you wish -- it means pushing yourself a bit, building your self esteem and going forward, in the present.
