yes lithium is a med they gave me because i asked to try it it did nothing for me , but it didnt change my weight or body in any way like you are worried about. so go for it an ask they can only say no if they think it may be wrong. i dont get you on the thyriod mine is only a little bit low but thet still keep me on 50mg so how come they stopped that med . mabye you should ask to look into that again. mannic666
