Remeron))Any advice Greatly appreciated))

Posted by BRC on September 7, 2008, at 18:50:33

O.K. here is the thing: I posted a few days ago about how I was just going to try and quit my Remeron "cold turkey". I have been on Remeron for 3-4 years now. I take 30mg mainly just for sleeping purposes (I tend to have insonmia). But over the years I have went from 165 lbs. to 205 lbs. I know the Remeron is the main culpruit in my weight gain b/c soon after take it I get extemely hungry. I often wake up half a sleep and could eat the house down. I wanted to just test the waters and see if discontinuing the Remeron would ease my appetite.

Well this is my third day without the Remeron and my appetite is nearly back to normal. I have went from 205 lbs. to 198 lbs. in three days.

But this is my question and concern: I was expecting to feel some type of withdrawal. But other than not feeling the sedation of the Remeron than made me fall a sleep. I haven't felt anything physically or emotionally.

But it has only been three days. Is the Remeron just about out of my system? Can I expect to feel some withdrawal in days to come? I read where Remeron has a half-life of about 40 hours.

Could it be that my other meds: I take 60mg Cymbalta, 4mg Klonopin, 200mg Luvox, 300mg Lyrica are masking the withdrawal symptoms?

Any input would be very helpful b/c I don't want to do any thing that could lead to something bad.

Thanks,

brc
