A number of the established medical community has viewed the "Amen Clinics" as having some questionable practices, such as SPECT scans (which are not insurance supported and typically cost over $3000), and hyperbaric oxygen treatment.
One is entitled to their own opinion, but there are two sides to the coin, as noted in Salon, which is fairly mainstream, by neurologist Dr Robert Burton:
