Tegretol and Trileptal

Trileptal is a better choice than Tegretol today -- Tegretol is known for a number of side effects. But I assume you have discussed this with your doctor. They are related medications (oxcabazepine and carbamazepine [Tegretol])

At least in the US, Trileptal is also now generic as well, as of 2007. There is debate as to whether it is more or less effective but the side effect laundry list is definately shorter. Then again, each person responds differently
