For me, Geodon worked within a couple of days. Almost overnight actually. I started at 20mg at bedtime and within a day or two, my depression and my anxiety were gone. Well, I still had a little anxiety - had to take .5 Klonopin in the afternoons. But it worked great for me for several months. I would have to increase the dosage every 2-3 weeks because it would start to poop out. So I'd go up by 20mg and I'd be all happy again. Finally I reached the point where I was taking 120 mg and I couldn't handle it. Too much norepinephrine action. I felt like I was going to jump out of my skin.
Right now I take 80 mg. I can't take it once a day or even twice as recommended. I take 20mg in the morning, 20mg in the afternoon and 40mg at bedtime.
It is very very obvious when I miss my afternoon dose - if I forget to take it or something. About 6 or 7 hours after missing a dose, I start to feel very depressed. Don't understand why it works this way for me but it does.
