>I don't know about modafinil, but I have taken breaks (for a few days up to a few weeks) in the pasts due to loss of efficacy of methylphenidate after prolonged use (a month or more) and several dose increases. This is the major problem I (and many others) have with stimulants. I haven't had any withdrawal symptoms.
