Research into the mechanisms and short and long term effects of these medications even after discontinuation is in its infancy. In my estimate, it will take another 10-20 years before science begins to unravel a suitable picture of just what these drugs are fully responsible for in our nervous system that can be separated from our natural biological and neurochemical makeup.

I can certainly relate to what you're saying about feeling somehow changed even several months after stopping. I just don't know to what degree I can attribute the effects to my disorder or the drugs.
