Effexor at higher doses 150 mgs. and up can cause the release of dopamine and is more activating. If you have a lot of anxiety you may want to stay at lower doses. I am currently on 90 mgs. of remeron and 75 mgs. of effexor ( i plan to go higher on the effexor) and i feel pretty good. Hope this helps a little.
