> PARLODEL AND ELDEPRYL INHIBIT ONLY MAO-B IN SMALLER DOSES AND DO NOT RESULT IN THE SAME DANGEROUS INTERACTIONS AND RISES IN BLOOD PRESSURE FROM MAO-B INHIBITION COMPARED TO MAO-A INHIBITION. IN DOSES GREATER THAN 15-30 WITH ELDEPRYL IT CAN INHIBIT MAO-A AND THE SAME WITH PARLODEL IN DOSES GREATER THAN 10-20 MG. DAILY.
>I don't think there's a good body of evidence on exactly how dangerous eldepryl and other selective MAOis are in conjunction with stimulants. The default attitude seems to be to be very careful, though, because reactions to MAOis can be unpredictable. I would imagine that, as you suggest, it's certainly less dangerous than the unselective MAO inhibitors (at least at a low dose), but in my experience, doctors get very uncomfortable about the idea.
