Phillipa,

Lexapro worked wonders for me, but it took several months to work for my anxiety.

It also took me a long time to get started on it. I kept trying it, but even 5 mgs would make me freak out. I did 2.5 for a week, then 5 for a week, then 10 for about a month, and now I am stable on 20.

I highly reccomend that you give it a shot, but be patient.
