I don't think that Xanax is as difficult
to withdraw from as other benzos. In Canada
at least, the policy now is to prescribe
it on an as-needed basis, usually for panic
attacks, or family crises, and only for a max of about 3 months at no more than 30 0.50 tablets per month. Then, if another prescription is requested, the patient's situation reassessed.Most other benzos are far harder to withdraw from once addicted.
