Actually, SSRI's can be quite effective

While MAOI's can do a lot of good, and certainly Nardil has for me, there are tons and tons of folks who take SSRI's with success. I know this anecdotally from my experiences with clients. The research supports this as well. Perhaps those who do well on SSRI's don't post here because they don't do the type of research those of us with more difficult to treat disorders do. I wouldn't be posting here if my T hadn't recommended my doc and I look at an MAOI for my atypical depression. I googled it to find out about the SE's and restrictions, and found Babble. I would be surprised if someone on an SSRI would have the same experience.

SSRI's were definitely not the right choice for me, but that doesn't mean they aren't at all effective. I know they aren't the right choice for everyone here, either, and that not everyone has found the right med or combo that works for them. But they aren't useless either.
