In reply to 6 weeks?, posted by elanor roosevelt on March 11, 2007, at 21:43:06

Elanor,

I think people vary in how long they take to respond to a drug. I'm always very impatient because in the past I used to respond to Antidepressants really quickly, in a matter of days.

I get frustrated because I'm sure I know within the first week or so whether or not I'm going to respond to a particular drug and at a particular dose but the Psychiatrists seem to disagree with me because the standard rule seems to be 6 to 8 weeks.

How long did it take you to respond to Lexapro, at what dose? And what other drugs had you tried prior to lexapro and with what response?

Thanks....Denise
