from what my doc tells me, the special thing about Lamictal is you don't have to titrate down from it if you decide that you dont like it.
you can stop whenever you want, so its not a big commitment like effexor.
for anything bad going around about it, it's still supposed to have less side effects than anything else,
Ive heard that it makes some people more alert, and
some people more mellow, but its free of any sleep promblems or sexual side effects, and almost all ssris can have some sort of cognitive problems as well.I'm starting it pretty soon, Id say give it a try
