I was given chlorpromazine, then pericyazine and then Stelazine years ago. Dreadful - they all gave me akathisia. Do you think it's possible that the akathisia I still often get is a non-reversible side effect or is it due to Effexor? Mine was for anxiety. Same for my brother-in-law and worryingly, he's on Stelazine, which makes him chew his tongue. He's in the UK where they have a ludicrous attitude to benzos Fred
