Yes, the combination of the three would not be the best and would further the possibility of respiratory depression which is an ER situation, not a home remedy fix.


Benzodiazepines and alcohol are not the best mixture, but it depends on how much benzodiazepines and how much alcohol. The alcohol potentiates, doubles, triples the effect of the benzodiazepine, especially if you've never taken benzodiazepines before and are not used to them.


Respiratory depression rarely happens on benzodiazepines alone, unlike barbiturates, but its best to be used to a particular dosing regime before returning to the occasional drink because it can be an issue, and being in the ER on IVs, flumazenil, and heroic rescue efforts are not a situation I want to see anyone on.
