Remeron Muscle Cramping - Does it go away?

Posted by JayBTV on January 25, 2007, at 10:52:18

I've been on Remeron for about three weeks now. The first two weeks I was on 15mg, and I've been on 30mg since. The only real side effect I've noticed is achy muscles when I wake up.

I play a lot of guitar and do play out on occasion (Including last night). I've noticed that my left hand (the hand on the fret board) has been cramping quite a bit only 10-20min after I start playing. In the past I could play hours without any sort of cramping or pain - and I'm still only 29yrs old.

In my opinion the cramping is almost certainly due to the muscle fatigue/achyness side effect that I've noticed since beginning Remeron.

So I'm wondering if anyone who's experienced this Muscle side effect can hint at whether or not it may go away with time. I've considered trying a bit of Creatine or an Aleve but since it seems to be a less common side effect I'm hopeful it may just pass w/ time. The only other medication I'm taking is Lithium - and I've been on that since last summer....

Other than the cramping Remeron seems to be working well for me.

Thanks for any insight!
