Actually any dose of Remeron will cause weight gain in those susceptible to it from what people have said about it. Some say Remeron will activate other transmitters at super (45+ mg) high doses that will counteract this but I think I even tried 52.5mg, I dont remember, and not particularly different on all fronts.
Regardless of what contributes to its profile, the alpha-adrenergic being primary, and 5HT blockade being secondary but present probably more at higher doses, the tetracyclic is an excellent antidepressant for those who have treatment resistant depression. Unfortunately, weight gain is a major problem.
Curiously enough, certain suspect medications with weight gain may affect people under the weight curve more sometimes, but I'm glad that you are having success with your use of Remeron.
