More than one of you asked so this is directed to those who would like to know. I'm on Disablity Medicare A and B. Now for hospitalizations, ER, MRI's the like it pays a great deal. And my husband has his own insurance in his own name for himself . It's not through work as he is self-employed. So no I can't get on his policy cause of my preexisting conditions and age they won't touch me. I've been checking into medicare coverage today. As the thyroid issue and what may result may require meds other than psych. Good thing I didn't go for the EMSAM. Anyway I did get a CVS med card and saved 20% for my synthroid. The pharmacist said to me that none of the medicare insurance companies cover benzos. And until the middle of Nov you can't sign up as it's being changed. I received an e-mail from someone doing extremely well on her meds but medicare is cutting them this November and she's beside herself. As the meds are so expensive. Evidently from phone calls made today and the pharmacist especially about 20 insurance companies are participating in the new medicare prescription program come 2007. There is a copay.And different fees and different levels of coverage. Everyone seems very confused at this point about what this means. I went to one of the medicaire sites and it said some about Medicaid also being now part of Medicare. Does anyone out there know anything? Or word things better than me and start a thread as I will do later if no one else does. Love Phillipa
