I don't know. Stuff I've read over the years.

SCN = suprachiasmatic nucleus of the hypothalamus = site of the internal circadian master clock

It's funny, but there doesn't seem to be as much talk of X and Y clocks today as there was 10 years ago. Actually, there doesn't seem to be any. I don't know what happened. I really liked the idea. I think behavior can initiate activity of organs and glands that begin individual clocks separate from the master clock in the SCN. If this is true, then desychronization is possible. I think cortisol is one such hormone.

I sometimes envy those people who were put in "caves" with little light to see what their natural cycle was. I wonder if I have a strange anti-social cycle which requires enourmous amounts of sleep. River.

There are disorders of the circadian clock. Can you describe your sleep pattern? Do you find yourself needing to go to sleep at 7:30pm and wake up at 4:30am?

In what ways are you anti-social? Or are you just not available to be social because you are in bed sleeping?

Do you need to go to bed early at night? Do you find yourself waking up to early?
