I have been on clonazapam (Klonopin) and it really didn't do much for my anxiety. My new pdoc prescribed Xanax XR, (alprazolam XR), and I am having great success. From what my pdoc tells me, and from the research I have conducted on my own, Xanax is difficult to come off of, but it can be done in a relatively painless manner if tapered correctly. I love this drug, it works wonders for my panic attacks and general anxiety.
