I took effexor for 4 years. It worked very well for anxiety. It really takes the edge off of stressful situations.
I came off of it because of prostatitus symptoms. I did have a history of prostate problems years before I took effexor, however they had gone away to a very manageable level. After being on effexor for 2 years the prostate symptoms returned with a vengence. After researching on my own, with no advise from any doctors I discovered that effexor can cause prostate problems.
