Yes and yes. SSRIs increase the risk of being admitted into the hospital for abnormal bleeding 2-6 fold.

There are actually serotonin reuptake sites on blood platelets. Serotonin plays a role in platelet aggregation, but I'm not sure of the exact mechanisms involved. SSRIs prevent serotonin from entering the platelets and thus disturbs the clotting process.
