Lots of people have lots of funny side effects on Lamictal -- even at low doses. For many people they abate once they get up to a therapeutic dose of 200mg or so. Do a google search on this site, and check out the forum on Lamictal on Crazymeds.org for lots more patient experiences. Mood swings while titrating up seem to be very, very common. I've also seen several reports of itchiness without rash, headache and night sweats. I got very fuzzy headed, had some cognitive problems (word retrieval), somnolence and eventually -- at 175 mg. -- akathisia. So it wasn't the drug for me. But lots of people have a bumpy ride up and then LOVE it once they're stabilized at a certain dose.
