I'm not psychotic but I use them for the reason that they are a dopamine blocker and part of my disorder is connected to D2 -- I wouldn't otherwise, I never had any intention to do so. There's some response to them, so they obviously (Seroquel) do have some play in what is going on inside me.
People with bipolar are not necessarily psychotic but respond to things such as Zyprexa and Seroquel for manic phases -- lithium can have its own set of unpleasant side effects.
But the use of them for pure anxiety. .. mm.. only in special circumstances I think. There seems to be some anecdotal evidence for ultra low dose Seroquel for sleep, I wouldn't use it just for that but some do well.
