So my question is mostly for those who are currently or have taken EMSAM, is insomnia a side effect that most people get while taking this med? If the answer is yes, is it severe enough that a sleeping medication is needed? And, if anyone is on EMSAM, but was previously on Parnate or Nardil, is the insomnia as bad as it is/was with the other meds mentioned?

Seriously, as much as i would hate to have to do so, i would go back to ssri's, snri's and TCA's before going through the HELL of frequent insomnia again!

Hi Monte, I have not had insomnia but then I am an oversleeper. I do take .25mg at night of klonopin for anxiety and that may be why I still sleep good. I would probably still sleep good even withought the klonopin. I have no experience with other MAOI's.
