I realize everyone's mileage varies, but...If I recall correctly a few years ago Cephalon did a trial for modafinil for adhd and it flopped.
Then recently it was granted approvable status by the FDA (though it is not yet approved as Sparlon), where it was unanimously regarded to provide significant improvement in adhd symptoms.
What gives? I'm sure if you do a test enough times in enough different ways you can come to a desired conclusion if that's your goal.
(I mean, as an aside, how was Buspar approved for GAD when every psych I've ever talked to regards it as worthless?).
